By supporting efforts to pass legislation, we work to eliminate bureaucratic barriers and make critical resources, treatments, and therapies more accessible to our heroes.
At Help Our Heroes, we focus on addressing the unique mental and physical health challenges faced by our heroes, including:
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): Exposure to traumatic events can lead to recurring distress, difficulty sleeping, heightened anxiety, and intrusive memories that disrupt daily life.
- Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI): Physical injury to the brain from blasts or impacts can result in cognitive difficulties, memory challenges, and emotional regulation issues.
- Depression: Persistent feelings of sadness, lack of motivation, and diminished interest in activities can profoundly impact quality of life.
- Anxiety Disorders: Excessive worry and fear, often accompanied by physical symptoms, can hinder daily functioning and relationships.
